Coffee Runs Through Our Blood—and Our Soil

From the Hills of Apaneca to the Heart of San Diego

Our story begins in the vibrant, mist-covered highlands of Apaneca, El Salvador—a region known not just for its beauty, but for producing some of the most exquisite coffee in the world.

Generations ago, my family cultivated coffee in these mountains, where the rich volcanic soil and high elevation made every harvest something special. After years of dedication and, yes, a few hard-earned victories along the way, my father acquired over 300 acres of that precious land from his own family farm—preserving our legacy and laying the foundation for what we now call Finca Las Lomas.

Each of his children, including myself, inherited a piece of that history. I received 29 acres, a gift that grounded me in our family's agricultural roots.

A Marine's Journey Back to the Land

Life took me in a different direction. I left El Salvador to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps, where I spent 21 years learning the values of honor, discipline, and service. During that time, I stepped away from the land, eventually selling my portion of the farm in 2001. But the mountains of Apaneca never left my heart—and neither did coffee.

Today, I’ve returned to that legacy by partnering with my brother, who still owns and operates Finca Las Lomas. Together, we’re bringing our family’s coffee directly to San Diego and beyond—roasted in small batches, packed with purpose, and steeped in heritage.

The People Behind the Coffee

At Finca Las Lomas, coffee is more than a crop—it’s a craft, carried out by hardworking hands that know the land intimately. Local pickers carefully harvest the ripest cherries, often using skills passed down through generations. The beans are then washed, sun-dried, and prepared for export with precision and pride.

Each sip of Forever Thirsty coffee reflects the care and commitment of our family, our farm, and our community in El Salvador.
